Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Sigils application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sigils. By using the App you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent's or guardian's consent to use the App.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@sigils.app if you suspect unauthorised access.

User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to Sigils, including quest logs and any other text you enter ("User Content").

By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store that content solely for the purpose of providing the App's features to you (e.g. sending quest text to the AI backend for classification).

You are responsible for ensuring your User Content does not violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

AI-Generated Content — Not Professional Advice

Sigils uses AI to generate mentor feedback and quest classifications. This content is provided for motivational and gamification purposes only. AI responses are not professional advice of any kind — including medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice. Do not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for qualified professional guidance. We are not liable for any decisions you make based on AI-generated content.

Subscription and Billing

Sigils is available on a subscription basis at USD $7.99 per month.

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly on the date you first subscribed.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access until that date.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the new pricing takes effect constitutes acceptance.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from the App.
  • Submit content that is abusive, harassing, or harmful to others.
  • Attempt to circumvent authentication or access controls.
  • Use the App in a way that disrupts or damages our services.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the App — including its design, code, branding, and AI system architecture — belongs to Sigils. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited licence to use the App as described herein.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI responses will be accurate.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sigils and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to damages resulting from AI-generated content, data loss, or service interruptions. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
